My name is Ninna, I am a woman, 50 years old, single, and have a daughter 26 yrs old. I live in Sweden. I have 2 dogs, one cat and one bird.I have discovered Art again, I am so happy :) I have created drawings on and off in my life, mostly with graphite pencils and aquarelle colors. I have only a minor education in aquarelle painting at the Swedish Art School, and I have also been teaching aquarelle painting earlier at ABF School, courses for adults and children. When I was much younger I finished a Swedish course called "Lär Dig Teckna" with the Swedish artist Åke Skiöld http://seriewikin.serieframjandet.se/index.php/%C3%85ke_Ski%C3%B6ld. When I was in my thirties some of my paintings were displayed at an exhibition at Länsarbetsnämnden in Stockholm. That is what I have done in brief.I discovered Zentangle by an event, and I fell for it. I love the art form! And I also love doodling, mandalas, zendalas, zia's and a lot more. I work as an accountants assistant with lot of figures all day, and Zentangle is quite similar to mathematics. You have to think a lot about how you should do the zentangle; which patterns, pens, paper you should use, you have to count lines and divide strings etc.You can learn more about zentangle at www.zentangle.com and http://tanglepatterns.com.

Challenge # 12 - Monotangle Escalator in Blue

Hello! It is a new week, and here is the new challenge for the week.
I have chosen the pattern Escalator in a monotangle and colored with blue.
The string is #040 from tanglepatterns.com.

Here is the string:

And here you can find instructions to do the pattern Escalator.
It wasn't so easy as I thought, it took some time to get it right.
I guess you will notice that :)

And here is my finished result after coloring the monotangle in blue. I have used 2 different blue Gelly Roll pens (Sakura) and 2 water color pencils, and the black Unipin 0,1.

Hope you enjoy it!
Happy tangling!
Pls leave a comment below, and post your contribution at the end of the blog in Mr Linky.
Thank you!

  1. Struggled with this, not as easy as it looks and too much like yours I think Ninna.

  2. I think it looks just fine :) Nice colors and shading. It doesn't matter if it looks like mine, I don't mind. I am happy you had a go :)
